Indonesia aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to 1.2 billion tons of CO2 equivalent by 2030. The Forestry and Other Land Use (FOLU) Net Sink initiative is central to this plan, with the forestry sector expected to provide 60 percent of the total reductions through peatland protection and reforestation. Achieving these targets requires an estimated 12.71 billion USD. With a current annual budget of only 6 billion IDR, the Indonesian government is seeking international and domestic funding collaborations to manage forest fires and expand social forestry programs.
