Indonesia Stock Exchange launches Green Equity Designation to label green and transition stocks
thailand-business-news.comIndonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has launched its Green Equity Designation, a voluntary label for listed companies that meet green economic activity or low-carbon transition criteria. The first three companies to receive it are PT Hero Global Investment (HGII) and PT Kencana Energi Lestari (KEEN) as Green Equity, and PT TBS Energi Utama (TOBA) as Green Transition. The label is meant to give these companies more visibility with sustainability-focused investors and to help investors identify verified green exposure on the exchange. The framework uses Indonesia's Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance (TKBI) and the World Federation of Exchanges Green Equity Principles, with assessment by external reviewers such as S&P Global Ratings and SUCOFINDO. It covers five pillars: financial contribution, taxonomy alignment, governance, assessment, and disclosure. IDX stresses the designation is not a rating or investment recommendation. The real test will be whether the label changes capital flows or just becomes another badge for investor relations.
