Indonesia's Chamber of Commerce says the country can tap into a global clean energy investment pool that reached US$2.3 trillion in 2025, with Asia-Pacific accounting for nearly half. The group points to Indonesia's critical minerals, solar, geothermal, and biofuel potential, plus a large domestic EV and battery market, as the base for building higher-value green industries rather than just exporting raw materials. Kadin also notes studies estimating up to US$3.8 trillion in net zero investment opportunities for Indonesia by 2050. The harder part is execution. The chamber flags three priorities: reliable low-carbon power that keeps industry competitive, a shift from raw material supplier to green manufacturer, and making projects bankable through clearer regulation, stronger infrastructure, and financing mechanisms. Government and private sector coordination will decide whether the opportunity becomes actual investment.
