Indonesia is framing its new forestry carbon trading regulations as a way to build a broader carbon ecosystem rather than just a marketplace for credits. The government aims to use carbon trading as one of many financing instruments to meet national climate targets. Officials emphasize that the framework focuses on synergy, deregulation, and decentralization. The goal is to simplify business processes for the private sector and indigenous communities while maintaining high integrity standards for carbon certification.
