Indonesia's financial regulator, OJK, is revising Regulation No. 14/2023 to strengthen the national carbon market. The update aims to improve governance and transparency for carbon trading through the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with a completion target of June 2026. As part of this effort, OJK is developing a new carbon unit registry system. This initiative aligns with broader national goals to control greenhouse gas emissions and implement carbon economic value under recent presidential and forestry ministry regulations.
