Indian Bank has launched IND Green Charge, a financing scheme for EV charging infrastructure, with a lending target of Rs 100 crore for the rest of this fiscal year and Rs 250 crore for the next. The public sector lender is offering loans up to Rs 10 crore with a maximum tenure of 8 years for public, captive, and fleet charging stations under standalone and franchise models. The bank says it stress tested projects across AC, DC, and high capacity DC chargers under different utilization scenarios before setting the terms. The move comes as Indian EV sales grew 29.7% to 26.59 lakh units in 2025-26, and as the country's EV charging market is projected to expand from Rs 6,139 crore in 2025 to Rs 21,940 crore by 2030. The bank also plans to consider viable proposals in smaller cities and semi-urban areas based on local demand, location suitability, projected utilization, and repayment capacity.
