India-UK CETA trade deal boosts carbon capture, aviation and luxury auto, industry leaders say
aninews.inBritish industry leaders say the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is already moving carbon capture equipment, aviation services, and luxury car sales. Carbon Clean, a UK based carbon capture technology company with an innovation center in Mumbai, expects the deal to support around GBP 55 million in projected exports and imports. Its CFO says tariff reductions matter because the company manufactures equipment in the UK and develops technology in India. The trade pact took effect on July 15, 2026. At the first UK-India CETA Marketplace event in Mumbai, British Airways said it increased direct services between India and the UK by 25% in 12 months. Bentley also called the deal a growth opportunity for luxury auto. On the same day, the India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee agreed to exchange annual data on how companies actually use tariff concessions, with a focus on small and medium enterprises.
