Pi Green Innovations has commissioned India's first carbon capture and utilisation (CCUS) pilot based on mineral carbonation at GMR Warora Energy in Maharashtra. The Net Zero Machine captures CO2 from industrial sources and reacts it with fly ash to form a solid slurry that can be sold for construction use. The 2 to 10 tonne per day unit is designed to scale to 1000 tpd and targets steel, cement, and chlor-alkali plants under India's Carbon Credit Trading Scheme. The company has submitted its methodology to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency for credit registration. If successful, this could give heavy industry a practical path to lock carbon permanently while generating revenue from waste materials and carbon credits.
