Bhopal has introduced India's first Algae Tree, a microalgae-based system designed to capture carbon dioxide and release oxygen. The installation, located in Swami Vivekananda Park, is part of the city's Smart City initiative to combat urban pollution and heat. Developed by Mushroom World Group, the system claims to absorb as much carbon dioxide as 25 mature trees. The project involved a two year development period with a team of researchers and engineers to implement the biological carbon capture mechanism.
