The Indian Biogas Association is pushing for a mandatory 10 percent blend of fermented organic manure with chemical fertilizers by 2030. This move aims to restore soil organic carbon levels and reduce annual fertilizer import costs by approximately 2 billion USD. The proposal includes a phased rollout starting at 1 percent in 2026. By integrating organic carbon into national subsidy frameworks, the plan seeks to create a circular economy between biogas production and sustainable farming.
