India Proposes 10% Organic Manure Blending Target by 2030
m.economictimes.comThe Indian Biogas Association is pushing for a mandatory blending of fermented organic manure (FOM) with chemical fertilizers. The proposal suggests a phased increase, starting at 1% in 2026 and reaching 10% by 2030 to restore soil health and reduce reliance on imports. This initiative aims to create a circular economy by linking biogas production with sustainable farming. By integrating FOM into national subsidy frameworks, the plan seeks to improve soil organic carbon levels and potentially save the government 2 billion USD annually.
