India Pledges Rs 200 Billion for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS)
constructionworld.inIndia has committed Rs 200 billion over five years to scale Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies. The funding targets hard to abate sectors including steel, cement, chemicals, and power generation to lower industrial emissions without stalling economic growth. The initiative focuses on R&D, pilot projects, and the buildout of carbon transport and storage infrastructure. This move is partly a strategic response to the EU's carbon border mechanism, aiming to keep Indian exports competitive by reducing their carbon intensity.
