India offers 50% subsidy on carbon fibre harvesters for Andaman farmers under PM-RKVY scheme
thewaveandaman.comThe Andaman and Nicobar Islands Department of Agriculture is offering a 50 percent subsidy on Carbon Fibre Telescopic Harvesters for the 2026-27 financial year. The scheme, funded under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, caps the subsidy at Rs 30,000 per farmer. It targets small and marginal farmers with at least 0.10 hectares of land. The telescopic carbon fibre tool lets farmers harvest fruit from the ground instead of climbing trees, reducing fall injuries. The material resists rust in the islands' humid climate. Officials say the subsidy aims to cut labor needs and speed up harvest cycles for local growers.
