Infrastructure cost is the hidden story here. Building a hydrogen production and refueling station for one 89 km route is expensive. Scaling that to multiple routes without cheap green hydrogen will be tough.

India already electrified most of its broad gauge network. Hydrogen makes sense for the gaps. But I'd rather see battery electric trains for short routes. They are simpler and cheaper to maintain.
