India has formally invited French companies to participate in its nuclear energy sector, according to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. The move aims to scale up nuclear capacity as a reliable low-carbon baseload power source alongside solar and wind. Nuclear plants can generate electricity continuously, supporting grid stability and energy security while India pursues its carbon reduction goals. The invitation builds on a long civil nuclear partnership between India and France, including the proposed Jaitapur Nuclear Power Project in Maharashtra.
