Offshore wind is a huge lift for India given the coastal infrastructure needs. I wonder if these agreements include specific targets for grid interconnection or if it is just high level research for now.
Usually these MoUs are just the first step. The real test is whether they align their carbon accounting standards so the captured carbon actually counts toward national targets in a way both countries recognize.
Good to see SINTEF involved. They have a lot of practical experience with carbon capture. Hopefully this leads to actual pilot plants instead of just more white papers.
Waste valorisation is mentioned. If they can figure out a low cost way to turn industrial waste into building materials or fuel, that would be a win for the industrial sector.
