R. Mukundan, President of CII and MD of Tata Chemicals, called for stronger India-Japan collaboration in electric mobility, battery storage, green hydrogen, carbon capture, and renewable energy. Mukundan is from Tata Chemicals so he knows industrial energy use. Green hydrogen and carbon capture are capital intensive. Japan has the electrolyzer and membrane tech. India has the demand. The working group idea makes sense if it leads to joint pilot plants.
