IIT Bombay Launches India's First Integrated CCUS Field Lab
news.careers360.comIIT Bombay has opened India's first integrated Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) field laboratory. The facility uses an aqueous catalytic process to capture CO2 from industrial emissions and ambient air, with a capacity of three tonnes per day. Notably, the system is designed to operate using seawater and industrial wastewater instead of freshwater. The project also includes scientific drilling into Deccan basalt formations to study long term geological carbon storage and mineral trapping.
