Igloo Coolers installs 7,782 solar panels at Katy facility to cut carbon emissions and grid reliance
katytimes.comIgloo Coolers, owned by Dometic Group, has completed a large solar array installation at its manufacturing headquarters in Katy, Texas. The project includes 7,782 solar panels and was developed with CLS Sustainable. It aims to reduce the facility's grid dependency, lower carbon emissions, and improve energy security for its global supply chain. A ribbon-cutting event was held on June 10, 2026, with over 50 attendees from the community and local leaders. Over the next 25 years, the solar array is expected to cut CO2 emissions by 97,500 metric tons. That is roughly equal to the annual carbon absorption of 975,000 acres of U.S. forest. The project is part of Dometic's broader sustainability goals and is designed to deliver long-term, predictable energy cost savings while supporting industrial energy infrastructure in the U.S.
