Intercontinental Exchange launched ICE GreenTrace, a registry platform for carbon credits and energy certificates, on June 22. The service uses the same technology that powers ICE's financial markets to bring financial-grade infrastructure to the carbon credit market. Environmental Resources Trust migrated its ACR and ART programs to the new platform, moving over 437 million serialized credits and 40,000 files. The goal is to help scale carbon credits into an institutional asset class with secure, regulatory-compliant infrastructure for global investors.
