CORSIA is the only global framework for addressing international aviation emissions, established by ICAO in 2016. IATA estimates the program could generate $4-5 billion in climate finance in its first phase and potentially $100 billion by 2035. The alliance will provide pro bono support to countries wanting to authorize domestic emissions units for CORSIA, ahead of the first compliance deadline in December 2027. This is a practical step to unlock supply in a market that has struggled with credit availability.

32 entities is a decent start but I wonder how many of those are actually committing resources versus just signing a letter. Pro bono support for host countries sounds good but who pays for the actual implementation work?

If CORSIA really does generate $100 billion by 2035 that would be a serious source of climate finance for developing countries. But only if the credits are real and not just accounting tricks.
