Hyundai and POSCO Build Low-Carbon Steel Mill in Louisiana with Danieli Technology

The facility will utilize electric arc furnaces and a direct-reduced iron plant designed to be hydrogen-ready and equipped with carbon capture technology. This integrated mill aims to reduce the carbon footprint of automotive steel production in North America by utilizing recycled scrap and low-carbon smelting processes. The project includes a production capacity of 2.88 million tonnes per year for the melt shop.
