Australian electrolyser developer Hysata has been awarded AUD 49 million from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to support a manufacturing line at Port Kembla, New South Wales. The funding is aimed at scaling up production of Hysata's high-efficiency electrolyser technology, which is designed to lower the cost of green hydrogen production. This follows Hysata's first binding MW-scale order for its electrolyser system, indicating commercial momentum. The Port Kembla facility is expected to bolster domestic manufacturing capacity for hydrogen equipment, aligning with Australia's push to become a major exporter of green hydrogen. The grant underscores ARENA's focus on bridging the gap between pilot projects and commercial deployment.
