Hyosung Invests in Trillium Bio-Acrylonitrile Demo Plant
european-rubber-journal.comHS Hyosung Advanced Materials is leading a 13 million dollar Series B funding round for Trillium Renewable Chemicals. The investment supports the demonstration phase of a new process that creates acrylonitrile from waste glycerol, a byproduct of biodiesel production. This technology aims to replace traditional petrochemical inputs used in the production of synthetic rubbers, high performance polymers, and carbon fiber. The demonstration plant is expected to begin commissioning in early 2026 with product shipments following in the second half of the year.
