HyNet carbon capture community fund opens for Cheshire and Flintshire groups
chesterstandard.co.ukHyNet is the industrial carbon capture cluster planned for the North West of England and North Wales. A new community benefit fund now offers grants for not-for-profit groups in Cheshire and Flintshire, the areas hosting the pipeline and storage infrastructure. The fund will support education, environmental projects, and local heritage. The project includes a 26km underground pipeline from Elton to the Point of Ayr terminal, with captured CO2 stored in depleted reservoirs under the Irish Sea. Developers expect 2,000 construction jobs and 200 to 300 permanent roles. Grant details and application information are available through the Liverpool Bay CCS Limited fund.
