Hydrogen Utopia gets UK licence for waste-to-jet fuel using InEnTec gasification
hydrogen-central.comHydrogen Utopia International has licensed InEnTec's PEM gasification technology for the UK, paying $500,000 to develop waste-to-SAF projects. The process turns non-recyclable plastics and tyres into syngas that can be upgraded to sustainable aviation fuel. The company already holds a similar licence for the Middle East and North Africa. The move lines up with UK policy support, including the SAF mandate and Low Carbon Fuels Fund. But Hydrogen Utopia is pre-revenue and still burning cash, so the licence is an early-stage bet on future projects rather than a sign of commercial production. Investors should weigh the policy tailwind against the company's financial position.
