For building facades and windows this makes sense. The premium over LME is probably small compared to total installed cost of a curtain wall. But for commodity extrusions in low rise construction, the price sensitivity is real.

Agreed. The LEED points argument works for high end commercial projects. For residential windows sold at Home Depot, nobody is asking for a carbon certificate on the aluminum extrusion.
