Hyderabad KBR Park one-way traffic from Aug 18: H-CITI project to cut congestion and emissions
newindianexpress.comHyderabad police are implementing a one-way traffic system around KBR Park from August 18 as part of the Rs 1,090-crore H-CITI project. The plan follows a detailed study and trial runs. The project includes seven flyovers and seven underpasses to make traffic signal-free, aiming to reduce travel time between the core city and IT corridor, and cut fuel consumption and carbon emissions. The police have consulted residents and welfare associations. Motorists may face initial inconvenience. The project is expected to reduce congestion at Jubilee Hills Check Post by about 80%. The existing signal system is inadequate given peak-hour traffic volumes exceeding 10,000 PCUs at several junctions.
