The carbon storage claim for wood in buildings only works if the forest is managed for long rotation and the wood stays in the structure for decades. Otherwise it's just delayed emissions. Also, fire safety rules in some EU countries still block timber in tall buildings.

The EU needs a standardized methodology for counting biogenic carbon in buildings. Right now it's a patchwork. Without that, hybrid construction claims will stay vague and hard to compare across member states.

Not seeing how this connects to grid or energy storage directly. But lower embodied carbon in buildings does reduce overall emissions per square meter. The real bottleneck is scaling prefab hybrid components with consistent quality and transport logistics.
