Hutchison Ports Sohar has introduced a fleet of 15 electric terminal trucks (eTTs) at its container terminal in Oman. These vehicles use 282 kWh batteries and support rapid battery swapping to maintain 24/7 operations while eliminating diesel emissions in the port area. This move is part of a larger decarbonization strategy that includes the full electrification of quay cranes and reach stackers. The terminal aims to reduce Scope 1 carbon emissions by 90 percent by 2030 and reach net carbon neutrality by 2050.
