Hull College opens 5 million pound Greenwave green energy training centre in September 2025
bbc.co.ukHull College is opening a 5 million pound green energy training centre called Greenwave in September 2025 at its main campus. The centre will train people in solar panels, heat pumps, hydrogen technology, electric vehicles, carbon capture, and sustainable construction. It is funded by the government's Levelling Up fund and supported by 29 industry partners in the Humber region. The college already runs over 145 green skills courses and trained more than 2,700 learners last year. The Humber region is a key area for the UK's low-carbon transition, and this centre aims to supply skilled workers for the growing green energy sector. Local leaders say the investment will strengthen the region's position in green energy and create career pathways for learners.
