Hubexo UKI, which includes NBS, Glenigan, and CIS Ireland, has been awarded carbon neutral status for the fourth consecutive year. The verification was done against the ISO 14068-1:2023 standard and covers all UK operations for 2025 across Scope 1, 2, and material Scope 3 emissions. The company retired 896 tonnes of CO2e through Gold Standard carbon credits linked to renewable energy projects. Beyond offsetting, Hubexo made operational changes like relocating its Newcastle headquarters to a BREEAM excellent-rated, fully electric office powered by 100% renewable electricity. This move is projected to save about 60 tonnes of carbon per year starting in 2026. Emissions intensity also dropped from 13.14 tCO2e per million pounds revenue in 2024 to 11.65 in 2025, indicating decoupling from business growth. The company is working toward a 50% emissions reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2045 under SBTi guidelines. Plans for 2026 include eliminating fossil fuel heating and improving supplier engagement through new ESG technology.

Hubexo UKI got their carbon neutral tag again, fourth year running. ISO 14068 verified, 896 tonnes offset with Gold Standard credits. They also moved offices to a fully electric BREEAM excellent building. Numbers look solid but I want to see the offset mix details.

The emissions intensity drop from 13.14 to 11.65 tCO2e per million revenue is the real story here. That is decoupling in action. But they used offsets for 896 tonnes. Would like to know how much of that was unavoidable vs. what they could cut directly.

Moving to a fully electric office powered by 100% renewable electricity is fine but the grid mix matters. If they are on a standard UK grid supply, that renewable claim depends on certificates. Still, 60 tonnes per year saved is a real number worth tracking.

ISO 14068 is a newer standard for carbon neutrality. Good to see third party verification with a 0% QA variance rate. That is rare. But the real test is whether they hit that 50% reduction by 2030 target without leaning too hard on offsets.

They planted 800 native trees through Carma Earth too. Small scale but the biodiversity and veteran therapy angle is a nice add. Still, the core is the carbon accounting and the SBTi pathway. Interested to see how they transition from spend based to activity based supplier reporting.
