HSBC has introduced a $4 billion Sustainability and Transition Credit Facility to help mainland Chinese companies expand their low-carbon and clean energy operations into overseas markets, specifically targeting the Philippines. This move aligns with the Philippines' goal to increase its renewable energy share to 35 percent by 2030. The financing covers various sectors, including clean power, transport electrification, and AI-driven data centers. It also supports the broader ASEAN Power Grid initiative, which aims to connect electricity networks across member states to enable cross-border power trading.
