HSBC has established a $4 billion Sustainability and Transition Credit Facility to fund low-carbon companies in mainland China. The initiative focuses on clean power, transport electrification, and the energy needs of data centers and AI infrastructure. Vietnam is a primary target for this funding due to its Power Development Plan VIII, which requires over $134 billion in investment for power generation and transmission by 2030. The facility aims to help Chinese cleantech firms expand their solar, battery, and EV footprints in the ASEAN region.
