HowGood and Sweep have announced a partnership to help food and agriculture companies track product-level carbon emissions. HowGood's database covers over 12 million food and agricultural products, and the integration with Sweep's AI-powered platform will allow businesses to use that data for scope 3 carbon accounting, supplier engagement, and regulatory reporting without manual data transfers. The partnership comes as companies face growing pressure from regulations like California's SB 253 and the EU's CSRD, which require detailed emissions reporting. Food supply chains are particularly complex because a single product can involve multiple ingredients from different suppliers and countries. The integration aims to give companies a single, audit-ready foundation for reporting across various frameworks.
