NASA funded compact CO2 capture systems originally designed for Mars missions. That technology has been adapted for Earth, helping breweries and other industries recover and reuse carbon dioxide instead of buying it from external suppliers. Earthly Labs licensed the tech and now sells it for fermentation, wineries, distilleries, and helium processing. The system captures CO2 from fermentation and purifies it for reuse, reducing reliance on supply chains and lowering waste. Chart Industries acquired Earthly Labs to scale the tech toward industrial and power generation applications. This is a clear example of space research producing practical decarbonization tools with real commercial traction.
