Fermanagh and Omagh District Council reported a 92% drop in fleet-related carbon emissions for 2025-26, with total Scope 1 emissions at 86.96 tonnes of CO2. The council says the reduction came from using Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) at both depots for the full year, replacing standard diesel in compatible vehicles. The council also bought two electric vehicles in March 2026 and is applying to the Depot Charging Scheme to add charging capacity at its depots. The HVO switch delivers the headline cut, while the charging application is the piece to watch for longer term fleet electrification.
