House Sara, a South Korean flexible living operator, has become the first in its industry to receive green finance recognition under the Ministry of Environment's K-Taxonomy. The company secured 3 billion won in low-interest green ABS funding for its AI-based smart room IoT system, which aims to reduce carbon emissions in operating rooms by over 30% by 2030. The system integrates real-time monitoring of power, gas, and water usage with AI controls linked to occupancy data, and has already demonstrated a 2.3% electricity reduction and 847 kg carbon savings at its Dongdaemun branch. The company plans to expand the system to 2,500 rooms by 2030 and offer it as a B2B solution for other residential properties. This marks a practical step in applying green taxonomy standards to building energy management, with verified real-world data backing the carbon reduction claims. The move aligns with broader trends in climate finance tied to measurable decarbonization in the built environment.
