Scientists from Hong Kong have deployed the Multi-Spectral Imaging Carbon Observatory (MUSICO) to the Tiangong space station. This lightweight sensor is designed to detect over 99 percent of CO2 and methane emissions from point sources like coal plants and landfills with 100-meter spatial resolution. The data collected will be shared with the UN Environment Programme and other global research institutions. This effort aims to provide a precise scientific basis for emissions monitoring and climate policy across industrial regions between 42 degrees north and south latitude.
