Researchers from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have deployed the Multi-Spectral Imaging Carbon Observatory (MUSICO) to the Tiangong Space Station. The device is designed to monitor carbon dioxide and methane emissions from high-intensity industrial sites, including coal power plants and landfills. Data from the two-year mission will be shared with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment to help establish national carbon reduction targets. The project also involves collaborations with energy providers like CLP to improve waste reduction and energy strategies.
