A new multi-spectral imaging observatory, developed by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, is now operational on the Tiangong space station. The instrument, known as Eye For Space, is designed to monitor carbon dioxide and methane emissions from industrial sites, including power plants, coal mines, and landfills. Payload specialist Lai Ka-ying is responsible for the installation and operation of the observatory. The project aims to provide precise data on greenhouse gas emissions from major industrial sources over a two year period to support climate monitoring efforts.
