Hong Kong and Dongguan are collaborating to establish a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production base in the Greater Bay Area. The project, led by biofuel producer EcoCeres, focuses on converting waste cooking oil into certified aviation fuel to reduce lifecycle emissions by over 80 percent. The initiative combines Hong Kong's financial and research capabilities with Dongguan's industrial infrastructure and raw material supply. This hub aims to support regional carbon reduction goals and decrease reliance on traditional high-carbon aviation fuels.
