Hong Kong and Dongguan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) value chain in the Greater Bay Area. The project, led by EcoCeres, focuses on converting used cooking oil into certified aviation fuel to reduce lifecycle carbon emissions by over 80 percent. This collaboration combines Hong Kong's financial and research capabilities with Dongguan's industrial infrastructure and raw material supply. The initiative aims to align regional policies and mobilize resources to support broader carbon reduction goals in the aviation sector.
