Holcim Zug Headquarters: Showcasing Low-Carbon Concrete and Sustainable Office Design
e-architect.comHolcim has redesigned its Zug headquarters in Switzerland as a living laboratory for sustainable construction. The project integrates low-carbon concrete blocks, 3D-printed concrete, and carbon prestressed concrete to demonstrate how industrial materials can reduce the carbon footprint of commercial buildings. The facility also features an energy-efficient climate control system using lake water for cooling and demand-controlled ventilation based on real-time CO2 levels. This approach combines material innovation with passive energy strategies to create a future-proof workspace.
