Holcim has introduced ECOPlanet, a low-carbon cement in the UAE made from locally sourced materials. The new product reduces the carbon footprint of cement by 30% compared to traditional options while maintaining the strength and durability required for large scale infrastructure projects. By producing the material locally, Holcim aims to reduce reliance on imports and support the UAE's industrial growth. Ready-mix producer Conmix is already deploying the cement in active projects to prove its scalability in the region's construction sector.
