Hindustan Zinc has signed a memorandum of understanding with Advantek Associates and Aero Eagle Automobiles to explore green hydrogen and clean energy options for its mining operations. The study will cover hydrogen generation, storage, and use in both underground and surface mining equipment, including H2-ICE and fuel cell technologies. The company aims to reach net zero by 2050 or sooner. The feasibility work will help determine if hydrogen can replace diesel in heavy mining vehicles and onsite power. No timeline or budget has been disclosed yet for the pilot phase.
