Himadri Speciality Chemical Q2 Profit Up 31% as Battery Materials Business Expands
themachinemaker.comHimadri Speciality Chemical reported a 31% rise in net profit to ₹231 crore for Q2 FY2026-27. Consolidated revenue crossed ₹3,000 crore in the first half, with EBITDA above ₹600 crore and profit after tax above ₹450 crore. The company credits an improved product mix and expansion in core businesses for the jump. The battery materials work is what makes this relevant to electrification. Himadri is developing carbon nanotubes, specialty carbon black, silicon carbon, and LFP cathode materials. Its investee Sicona Battery Technologies closed the acquisition of Advano in the US and received AUD 45 million from ARENA to push silicon-carbon anode commercialization. Himadri also holds a stake in International Battery Company, which covers material validation and cell development. The proposed Birla Tyres merger would create an integrated tyre value chain around specialty carbon black. Himadri also says its eight plants run zero-liquid discharge and its clean power covers 100% of in-house use, but the battery material pipeline is the clearest link to the low-carbon supply chain.
