Himadri Speciality Chemical is diversifying its portfolio by entering the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode active material market. The company aims to support 100 GWh of lithium-ion battery demand over the next five years, starting with an initial capacity launch in late 2026. This strategic move leverages Himadri's existing dominance in speciality carbon black, which is essential for improving conductivity in battery electrodes. By integrating these capabilities, the company seeks to reduce India's reliance on imported battery materials and support the domestic electric vehicle supply chain.
