Hillebrand Gori, the DHL Group beverage logistics specialist, has launched two new low-carbon freight services. GoGreen Plus Base offers a 10% reduction in allocated main-haul well-to-wake greenhouse gas emissions using a regional flat fee. GoGreen Plus Premium offers reductions of up to about 85%, with pricing based on trade lane, and may waive EU ETS maritime surcharges on eligible ocean routes. Both options apply to full-container load, less-than-container load, and air freight shipments. The services use a verified book-and-claim methodology. Sustainable marine fuels are used for ocean freight and sustainable aviation fuel for air freight. The alternative fuel does not have to physically power a customer's specific shipment; instead, verified emissions reductions are allocated to eligible transport activity in the same mode. This gives beverage shippers flexibility to cut reported transport emissions without reworking their supply chains. Customers can apply the new options to single shipments, selected trade lanes, or larger volumes. The launch reflects growing demand from beverage companies for practical transport decarbonization tools that work with existing logistics networks.

Book-and-claim for shipping is interesting. The fuel itself doesn't have to go into the ship that carries your cargo, but the emissions reduction gets allocated to your shipment.
