287k trees since 2022 is decent for a local scheme. Would be good to know the species mix and survival rate though. Planting is one thing, keeping them alive is another.

The council set a target of 101k then overshot to 126k. That is rare for public sector climate programs. Worth watching if they keep that momentum with the new 150k goal.

Free native saplings for residents is a low friction way to get canopy cover up. But long term maintenance falls on the homeowner. Not everyone will water them through a dry summer.
